Written by George Matthews

Gold Award:

Congratulations to the Vale of Evesham School(Worcestershire) Second Gold Award and Addington School(Wokingham) Fourth Gold Award. See details on the home page of the tt web site regarding “Gold Award – A Road Map (Development Plan) to Enable Risk and Restraint Reduction”

Accreditation Status:

Team Teach has achieved the ICM Quality Training Centre Award. This is a nationally recognised accredited status, seen as a bench mark by government departments. The Department of Health guidance states (Para 127) that: " there are no universally accepted standards for the use of physical restraint although both the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) and the Institute of Conflict Management (ICM) offer voluntary quality accreditation schemes" (D.O.H Positive and Protective Care" April 2014)

Team Teach will not now be resubmitting (June 2015) its courses for BILD accreditation. See the document: “Accreditation Status” located in the “Contact Us” section of the TT web site. Additional information regarding the background and reasons for the switch in accreditation systems, can also be found, see the article: “British Institute of Learning Disabilities Code of Practice 4th Edition 2014” in the TT Current News section
